6 Things to do for Your Best Morning

What is a good morning routine?

Short answer- it is really different for everyone. The perfect morning routine is one that works for YOU. However, the tips we’re about to share can work for everyone. Feel free to take or leave any of these tips, or to add your own personal flare. I like to try to implement these tips at least five days of the week to feel my best.

Hydrate

When you wake up in the morning you should immediately hydrate. After going 8 or more hours without drinking anything, our bodies are dehyrated. Leaving a full water bottle or tubler on your nightstand can make reaching for your hydration fix quick and easy to remember. For even more benefits, try adding some minerals, supplements, greens, fruit, etc.

Coffee

After hydrating, it's time to caffeinate. In the morning, I like to use Sipps Wake Up Call light roast to make an espresso. Its caffeine kick is just the thing to wake me up in the morning so I can start my to-do list for the day. If coffee isn’t your thing, you could try matcha, tea, or even sip on some bone broth for a protein boost.

Cold

Utilizing cold therapy right in the morning has countless benefits. Consider cold plunging, or taking a three minute cold shower. Cold therapy has countless benefits such as reduced brain fog, fat burning, metabolism boosting, skin tightening, the list goes on. If full body cold is not your dream way to start the day, try ice rolling your face, or dunking your face into a bowl of ice water. It really is the best way to depuff, and give yourself a mental boost in the morning.

Breakfast

We’ve all heard it before- breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it's true! Try to eat 20-30 grams of protein for breakfast to start the day with ample energy, and to stay full longer. Making sure to eat a well balanced breakfast with plenty of protein is imperative in order to avoid the afternoon slump.

Movement

Moving your body for at least 30 minutes in the morning is the perfect way to wake up, stimulate the ‘feel good’ chemicals in your brain, and start your day on a positive note. Whether it's walking, weight lifting, hiking, running, swimming, yoga, or pilates, just get your body moving! It doesn’t have to be an intense workout every day- just something to get you in the right mindset for what the day will bring.

Use a planner

Sometimes the day can feel overwhelming, and it can be hard to know where to start with all of life’s demands. Incorporating time to write in a planner is without a doubt the tip that took my mornings from chaotic and unproductive, to calm and organized. Set aside ten minutes to sit without distraction and write down your top priorities for the day. This would also be a good time to write in your journal to set your intentions and goals for that day.
